Plenty of water in Victoria today

BoM Radar, 5:30pm

Plenty of water in Victoria today. Nearly 30mm of rain down Mallacoota way, for example.

But how long will it last?

Do you think there will be another drought in Victoria in the next 10 years?

Are we doing enough to ensure fresh water supplies for the future?

Here's Leigh Sales and Margot O'Neill on ABC television (Lateline) in August '09. "When the water runs out, will Melbourne survive?"

  1. We've had a very wet day in NE Victoria and I've been collecting loads of rain water for the garden.

  3. I think droughts are inevidable - we all have to take care with our water use even though it has been raining all day in Glen Waverley

  4. Hello Carole, Anon and Christine. Thanks for your comments.

Yes even though we're collecting rainwater by the tank-full today, i think everyone's aware that we'll face drought again before too long.

i wonder if people in Melbourne are starting to catch up with the regions in water knowledge and awareness yet. i suspect not nearly.

    kind regards, michael
